HI-Tea SEMENTAS 2014

Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to be part of the school event for the last time before moving to another school next year.

The school organized Hi-Tea at Grand Season Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. 

Overall, I would rate the place 5 out of 10 points. It's just an average place with poor ventilation (note: the Olas Restaurant is at Basement 1 with poor air-condition system).  It was quite stuffy when you had more than 100 packs in a not so big area in which the chairs were arranged too close to one another! Therefore, for those who came with small kids/ babies , the atmosphere and setting are not conducive for them to move around (note: only 5 or 6 high chairs were available although we requested for more). As for the food, the choices are quite limited but the taste was not that bad! Syukur Alhamdulillah for that! In terms of the overall service, personally the whole committee and I felt a bit disappointed with the hotel management. The staff especially the manager in charged were not approachable and not being helpful. Upon making reservation, the hotel management had agreed on several things that we requested for the hi-tea. However, we did not get what we requested. In fact, we were blamed for making so-called inefficient reservation with the hotel management. The situation became quite awkward when the manager started to boast his credibility in organizing any event at the hotel straight to us as if like it was our first time ever having such event outside of the school. Eventually, we decided to just make do with whatever things the hotel had provided for us and proceed our event. I guess that's the best thing to do at that time instead of arguing endlessly with the manager.

Let's put aside the not so fond memory of the day and talk about our school Hi-Tea.
The theme was Glamorous & Glittering. As expected, most of the teachers (the ladies especially) were looking absolutely stunning from head to toe. Everyone who came received a door gift and a lucky draw prize! The grand prize of the lucky draw was a LCD TV! Even though I did not get the grand prize, my lucky draw prize was not that bad too lol! I got a Pensonic coffee maker. ok la kan? kan??

By the end of the day, everyone had great time spending time with each other.
Most importantly, none of us went home empty handed =)

Pejam celik pejam celik tidak disangka, kandungan ke 2 dah nak masuk minggu yg ke...33!
Mungkin ada yang cakap, "biasala dah masuk nombor 2 mestilah dh tak terasa setiap detik yg berlalu". hurmm actually ayat ni tak betul juga. Believe it or not, hubby and I look forward for our second one too. Although the preparation is not as much as the first baby, that doesn't mean the excitement is lesser right? Plus, most of the things we need are still in good condition such as the breast pump, deep freezer, breastfeeding sets like storage bottle etc. Buat apa nak membazir beli barang kalau boleh reuse lagi kan?

During our #Round1, we attended antenatal class in Pusrawi Kuala Lumpur and bought some useful books for our own reference. Up till know, those books have been good parental dictionaries for both hubby and I. Good investment indeed! Other than that, as first time parents we went to the Baby Fair for numerous time just to buy stuffs at their best offer. From MidValley to KLCC and the list goes on.. Err, can you imagine the crowd and how I survived with my bulging stomach? Lol!Little that we knew, for some baby stuffs buying things online is much cheaper than buying them at the shops or during the fair! Hahaha I guess, the excitement that drove us to brave through the crowd and not to mention the long queues too!

As for this #Round2, rasa macam dah expert sikit ( well, sikit je la..) . Believe it or not, we haven't visited any baby fair up till now. We did shop for some baby stuffs though especially things that we didn't get the chance to buy during Naufal's time.  The reason for that is because if we were to buy every single thing at once, surely kering poket mak yer! Silap hari bulan, hari-hari boleh makan nasi lauk ikan kering hahaha. Alhamdulillah, memang Allah nak bagi rezeki untuk anak ke 2. Seperti yang kita maklum, anak itu sendiri adalah rezeki kan? Dengan sedikit lebihan rezeki, dapat la mommy and daddy beli beberapa keperluan baby yang baru seperti baby cot, bottle sterilizer, Boba 4G babywearing etc. For this time, most things purchased at nearby baby store like One Baby World at Taman Permata Kuala Lumpur and also in some Instagram shops. Kalau compare harga pun, tidak lari sangat dengan harga sewaktu Baby Fair.

Alhamdulillah, my application for another transfer has been approved.
Sekarang, memang tengah menghitung hari untuk mengetahui keputusan penempatan pula which will be known on the 7th November.

Errr, seriously memang look forward to know about the new school. After almost 5 years in Selangor, this time around it will be in Putrajaya.

When mommy bakes!

I can't recall the last time I baked. Finally.. yesterday, I just did.
Out of many things, I attempted to bake a scone!
The taste? Hurmm, frankly speaking, I haven't had a real scone before this. Therefore, there's no benchmark on how good it should taste. OPs!

#Round 2 : Healthy eating

I always believe every pregnant woman should eat healthily. Having to say that, we must not take our diet lightly even how busy we are. However, taking supplement religiously is not something everyone can do easily. As for me, I struggled and stumbled in the first few weeks of my 1st and 2nd pregnancy. Nonetheless, I always reminded myself not to risk my health and also the growth of the fetus in my womb. Somehow I managed! Do you want to know the "secret"?
I keep on reminding myself  about the consequences of that tak apa or malas makan ubat attitude. It could lead to unimaginable worst case scenarios in the future (nauzubillah!!). Some people might say that don't be too paranoid yada yada yada. Kalau nak jadi tu jadi la juga. Well, don't forget that prevention is better than cure. Kalau Allah nak bagi ujian, at least kita dah berusaha dari awal and tidak lepas tangan kan..
 So , in this post I would like to share the supplements prescribed by my gynae. Sharing is caring, right??? Well, you might get different kind of prescription by your gynae. Whatever supplement you get, it is for your own good =)

As compared to my first pregnancy (#Round 1) with Dr. Marsita Mansor, I was prescribed with Sangobion, Proscal (Calcium) and Provas (DHA). Lebih kurang sama cuma brand je la yg lain sikit..


Other than that, I also believe in consuming sufficient intake of calcium to our body.
In addition to my calcium intake, I will make sure to drink a glass of fresh milk and add two spoons of tamar cocoa into it. The taste is marvelous!
What I like about tamar cocoa is that it contains tamar extract. As we know, tamar is good for everybody not just for pregnant or lactating mommy.
