I realize that I haven't got time updating my blog.
2014 has been quite a hectic year for me in SEMENTAS. I love to share so many things that have happened in my life but I really don't have the time (sorry, cliche sangaaaaaat :p)
Oh yes, I've been really occupied with school works (read: non-teaching duties). Whatever it is, as a teacher I love all the things I get involved with  (err..so far). And those who think teachers just stay in school and teach teach teach.... you are WRONG.

let me show you some of the things I've been involved with..

We used to play netball for SEMERBAK netball team. And now, we are the coach a.k.a team manager for each other's school. How nice!

Despite been involved with these non-teaching activities, I feel quite sad for not entering my classes too. Sampai ada murid boleh tanya, "bila cikgu nak masuk kelas??" huhuhu Do I have any choice? Semuanya SYMP (Saya Yang Menurut Perintah) I really hope things will start to slow down and I can concentrate on teaching again , InshaAllah.

 

How to create a Digital Storytelling video

Assalamualaikum wbt

As promised, I'm going to share some tips on how to create your own Digital Storytelling (DS) project.

First and foremost, you need to have:

1. Windows Live Movie Maker

2. Youtube Downloader.

If you don't have the software above, you can download them for FREE. Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully.

Step 1

Create a Digital Story folder at your desktop.

Step 2 

Open any internet browser (GOOGLE/ Yahoo etc). Download images related to your project.

Save the selected images in your DS folder (refer to Step 1)

Step 3

Download videos by using Youtube Downloader.
You can convert the downloaded Videos (MP4) to MP3 format by using Youtube Downloader.
Click Convert and save as Mp3. The downloaded MP3 and MP4 can be saved under DS folder.

Step 4

Open Windows Live Movie Maker.

Add the downloaded images/ videos/ songs.
** This requires practice. You need to familiarize yourself with some of the features (Animation/ Splitting etc) in order to produce an interesting video**

Step 5

Make sure to save the video

SAVE MOVIE -- For Computer
 This Movie is now ready to be use in your lesson. 

 However, this video cannot be edited.
Before you save the video as instructed above, make sure to save it as an edited version.
Click SAVE PROJECT.  You might want to do some adjustment/ editing in the future without having to start everything from beginning.

BSMM teacher , I am :-)

Assalamualaikum

Do u know what BSMM stand for? It's Bulan Sabit Merah Malaysia. In SEMENTAS, I have been appointed as Guru Penasihat for BSMM. Actually, I wanted to be under Kadet Remaja Sekolah since I already have KRS Baju Korporat. Usually, teachers and school admin wear Baju Korporat on every Wednesday according to their Unit Beruniform. Tapi takpa lah, dah diberi BSMM takkan nak guling guling nak juga KRS kan?? heheh Saya yang Menurut Perintah, terima kasih.

Back in high school, I was not really active in Unit beruniform as compared to Kelab & Persatuan. If I'm not mistaken, I joined Puteri Islam (Form 1) , Pandu Puteri (F2 & F3) and Pengakap (F4 & F4). Melompat dari satu unit ke unit yang lain...heheheh basically, sangatla tidak aktif!

So now, here I am, a BSMM teacher *clueless*
If you are in charge to be a BSMM guru penasihat or any  other unit, you should know few basic knowledge about that particular association, right? huhuh seriously, memang rasa bersalah sebab I have zero linited knowledge about things related to BSMM. Yang asas pun rasa x jelas hmmmm.
Tapi bersyukur juga sebab finally, yes finally I got the opportunity to attend a-2-day BSMM course in SMK Taman Melawati! yeayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Overall, I think I have learnt a lot of things from the two day course. At least , I'm no longer blur / clueless about my role as Guru Penasihat for BSMM *wink*. Look forward for another BSMM course in the future.

the non-teaching duties in school

Assalamualaikum wbt

Teaching is always every teachers' main business in school. However, when it comes to non-teaching duties, what would you prefer to do? Of course, it's never something that we can easily choose. Usually, we are assigned to do something or as many will say, "Saya Yang Menurut Perintah!"

I think I'm quite lucky because I've been assigned to do what I like most ; taking photo!
Back in my previous school, I was always in charged for taking pictures for most official events. I don't know why but I think the fact that I own a DSLR camera makes people think I'm a photographer. Hahah How I wish I am a professional photographer (berangan je la kan kkehkeh).

 In my current school, SEMENTAS, I'd consider myself to be fortunate  as I was assigned to be the ' Juru Foto 'for the recent Kejohanan Merentas Desa, Yabedabeduuuuuuuuuuuuuuu..
 I prefer to be the official photographer than any random duty such as the emcee, the person in-charged for the backdrop/ prizes, documentation..yada yada yada...

whatever it is, "Saya Yang Menurut Perintah" *wink*
