December oh December. It's school holiday u'olls!
Despite the fact that I'm in my third trimester, Alhamdullilah I'm  still able to have fun & enjoy the cuti sekolah before giving birth. Nanti kalau dah bersalin kena duduk rumah diam-diam so  sementara kudrat ni masih ada apa salahnya? Lagipun, doktor pun nasihatkan supaya banyakkan berjalan untuk memudahkan bersalin nanti Inshaa Allah. Memang kadang-kadang rasa semput tu datang juga, tapi biasalakan, nak seribu daya tak nak seribu dalih hehehe

Mommy's day out with Naufal

When hubby was away for almost 10 days, I thought I would face hard time managing my son on my own. Considering the fact that I was 38 week pregnant on that time, I could not believe that I can successfully babysit Naufal without relying too much on my personal "talian hayat". What is "talian hayat" then?  All this while, I've always believed that mak, abah , zetty & my hubby are my 'talian hayat' . Most of the time, they would assist me on looking after Naufal especially when I have urgent things to do! *covering face*

Don't get me wrong here! My Adam Naufal is a happy boy and he is not the type who can easily throw tantrum. It's me myself who always has the doubt in my own way of raising my own kid & for being too dependent on other people. Sometimes, you just need the extra hand when handling an active toddler (alasan je ni!)

 Subhanallah, Allah is the best planner of all.
I realized that He gave me such challenge when I was heavily pregnant and not during other time. Seriously, when everyone was away I doubted myself whether I could handle Naufal on my own. Alhamdulillah, this test by Allah has given me the strength and courage for not being too dependent on other people. I always set in my mind that Allah is with us and I always remind myself to stay positive as well. After all,  He is there all the time.  I tried to overcome whatever negative thoughts that distracted my mind by having interesting plans / activities to do with Naufal . Alhamdulillah, syukur Allah has eased everything for me. The experience was not that bad though. Mommy and Naufal really had good time together.
Inshaa Allah, may Allah show me the way to become a supermom especially when the second one is coming...soon!

Naufal's birthday celebrations

This year, Naufal had double birthday celebrations! The first one was in Putrajaya and the second one was at his Taska somewhere in June.

The one in Putrajaya was actually mommy's first attempt organizing Naufal's birthday party. Organizing a small scale birthday party at our new place in Putrajaya definitely required much thinking, time and energy! Unlike last year, we went for makan-makan at Restoran Upin & Ipin in Taman Melawati. This year, it was like killing two birds with a stone. We planned to have Naufal's birthday celebration in Putrajaya's house and at the same time to invite close friends and relatives for our house warming. 

Although we have all things so-called planned, booked, reserved and anticipated,  it was really exhausting when you have to be involved with all those pre-while-post celebrations. The best part of all was the hands on experience from preparing the birthday packs, and decorating and rearranging all the balloons and the scrumptious food. Nevertheless. the cleaning part was the least favourite moment! LOL! By the end of the day, everyone (especially the birthday boy) had great time. Alhamdulillah :-)

The other birthday celebration held at Taska Iman Amani was the owner's first attempt organizing a mass birthday celebration for all kids who stay there. It's a wonderful opportunity for parents to get to know one another. Every child had to bring a cake and pay RM 10 for the celebrations. It started with du'a recitation followed by cutting cake session. There's also lucky draws, drawing competitions and best dressed award! Naufal wore his baju raya (without his samping on). Some  kids even had superhero costumes! We didn;t know who won the best dress award since we had to leave the place early (and Naufal started to get cranky) hahaha.

cuti lagi!

Assalamualaikum

Today (10.10.13) I'm on my 4th day of cuti for this week. I was supposed to start working today as I mentioned in my previous post. Indeed, Allah knows best. We can plan, but He is the ultimate decider. 

Last night, Naufal was on high fever. His body temperature was really high as compared to previous nights. He was cranky and did not sleep well throughout the night. I put on the cool fever patch on his forehead to prevent the temperature from rising. It helped but my little hero still felt uncomfortable. He woke up for about every hour! Poor little boy. I didn't mind staying awake just to make sure he's in good condition. It's not easy to be in such condition especially when daddy is away working outstation. Above all, I'm so glad that i'm somehow still staying with my parents. They are my pillars of strength. Somehow with their presence I know that I'm not alone. Mak and abah helped out in so many ways . Can I be considered as anak manja? Nah, ni rezeki masing-masing. Nak manja-manja of course la dengan mak abah sendiri kan?? kan?? =)

Demam campak : Natural remedy vs modern remedy?

Dah bersawang blog mommy brella ni huhu. Memang x done nak update cerita baru lagi terkini di sekolah mahupun di rumah. Tapi hari ni memang curi sikit masa nak update pasal demam campak.

oh, anak ku kena demam campak pula huhuh. Sebernarnya, x terperanjat sangat bila Naufal kena demam campak sebab dekat nursery ramai baby dah kena. Nak di jadikan cerita, naufal belum lagi kena inject for demam campak so memang mudah la dijangkiti virus especially bila dihantar ke pusat asuhan.

According to mak, it's ok bila Naufal kena campak time kecil sebab kalau dah besar lagi bisa and merenyam. In my opinion, lagi challenging nak jaga a toddler yang kena demam campak sebab dia tak paham kenapa ada bintat2 merah satu badan and rasa merenyam siang malam! Paling dahsyat bila dia start menggaru, habis luka kudis-kudis yang dah mula nak mengering huhuhu. Bila dah luka, lagi la rasa sakit + merenyam + tak selesa kan?? Ya Allah, memang mencabar sangat ujian Allah ni.

Bila anak kena demam campak, memang x tunggu panjang dah..terus bawa ke klinik kanak2 berdekatan. Selama ni kalau ada apa2 masalah kesihatan berkaitan Naufal memang saya dan en.suami akan bawa ke Klinik Kanak-kanak Taman Melawati berjumpa dengan Dr. Hasmawati. So far so good. Naufal memang serasi dengan doktor ni. Bila doktor tgk jer bintik2 merah dekat badan Naufal (kalau tak silap dah hari ke 3), doktor terus confirmkan yang bintik merah tu adalah demam campak. Antara ubat-ubat yang diberi ubat antivirus, tahan gatal, demam, krim sapu. Mommy dapat la MC sehari (doktor ni memang strict, dia memang payah la nak bagi MC kat mana2 parents tp kali ni sebab demam campak dapat la sehari ) ok la kan, better than nothing. Memang ada spare CRK (cuti rehat khas) kalau ada emergency, tambahla lagi dua hari dkt situ utk jadi nurse di rumah menjaga anak yang x sihat. Kebetulan pula, en. suami kena outstation seminggu uwarhhhhh.....cobaan cobaan (-_-)

Seingat saya, dulu waktu kena demam campak tak da la pula pergi klinik. Memang mak guna cara tradisional je nak bagi sembuh demam campak. Mandi air daun mambu dicampur air penawar, sapu bedak sejuk. Bila tidur malam, letak daun mambu bawah kain dan baring atas kain tu. So bila naufal kena demam campak ni , ada macam pendapat yang diberi oleh kawan-kawan dan saudara mara. Rawatan moden vs rawatan tradisional, yang mana satu pilihan kami??

Setelah berbincang panjang lebar dengan suami, kami sepakat untuk menggunakan kedua2 kaedah moden + tradisional. Bukan tak mempercayai kaedah tradisional, tapi ada sebab kenapa ubat demam campak diwujudkan. Kalau zaman dulu memang la boleh anak dibiarkan selama 1-2 minggu dirumah tanpa sebarang ubat. Sekarang memang susah nak guna kaedah macam ni, cuti yang ada pun cukup2...kesian sgt kalau anak dihantar ke nursery dalam keadaan masih xsembuh sepenuhnya. Ubat yg diberi doktor mungkin dapat mempercepatkan rawatan dalaman dan luaran. Ada yang mungkin bersetuju, ada yang mungkin tidak. Wallahualam. Kami bukan doktor, tp kami memang bertawakkal semoga apa sahaja langkah yang diambil akan beri kesan positif kepada hero kesayangan kami.

Alhamdulillah, dah masuk hari ke 5 luka dan bintik di badan Naufal sudah mula mengering. Syukur sangat-sangat. Naufal pun dah makin kurang menggaru mungkin sebab dia dah tak larat nak fikir kenapa la banyak sgt bintik-bintik kat badan dia hehe. Esok mommy dah kena masuk kerja balik! Mujurlah maktok dah volunteer nak cuti dua hari (khamis dan jumaat) utk jaga cucunya seorang ni. Ya Allah, memang tak terbalas jasa mak sejak dari lepas bersalin sampai sekarang! terlalu banyak yang mak dah korbankan. Thank you so much mak. huhuhu

Walaupun demam campak, anak mommy maintain active siang dan malam! Alhamdulillah. Selera makan pun tak terganggu

p/s : Jangan keliru antara Hand Foot mouth disease (HFMD) dan demam campak. Kalau bintik naik di kawasan tapak kaki dan tangan, selera makan anak terganggu, itu tanda HFMD. Demam campak selalunya bermula dengan demam dan naik bintik-bintik merah di kawasan badan kecuali di tapak tangan dan kaki. Bila dah masuk fasa hujung2 baru binitk akan naik di bahagian tapak kaki dan tangan. Wallahualam. Sekadar berkongsi info sebab sebelum ni Naufal pun dah pernah kena HFMD.

I still remembered when many people started to bug question me about Naufal' growth..

*eh, xboleh jalan lagi? dah setahun kan?*  (kalau xboleh lagi apa masalah? :p)

*what? gigi pun sebatang xdok lagi?* (i'm happy coz this boy is still breastfeeding, no teeth yet means yay for mommy laaaa hikhik)

Naufal vomited.

Ok, not once, but it was THREE times!!
1st time, as the plane lanned.  landed

2nd time, in the ERL on our way to KL sentral

3rd (lastly!), as soon as I stepped out from abah's car, which was in front of our home. 

We were not quite sure why Naufal vomited but then it could probably relate to his empty stomach. He didn't have his dinner yet when we arrived  at the airport because he's been sleeping. Mommy and daddy were busy packing. (ok, it's mommy's fault for being   ignorant forgetful). So the conclusion was Naufal could probably hungry and his stomach was empty too. *kesian* huhuh

When a boy vomited on you, how would you response to it? luckily, I was not panicked especially when hubby was there to save the day too.  Considering that we were travelling on a plane, I knew that I had almost everything prepared in naufal's bag . (Extra napkin, extra shirts and pants for naufal). However, I forgot something else that was equally important...

My pants were wet and my blouse was partially wet too. Actually, I'm used to that kind of situation but having said that the situation was really different when you're using public transport; the ERL.  I could notice other passengers trying to cover their nose. Well, it's a baby's vommit, nothing I can do stop the unpleasant smell from spreading  in the fully air conditioned train. huhuhuhu

I've read so many tips about the Do's and Don'ts when travelling with kids/ babies.
As new parents, I believe we must equip ourselves with essential knowledge especially if  it's

related to children. As the saying goes ' sediakan payung sebelum hujan'!

Babies/ toddlers are unpredictable. Sometimes. we might think that we have prepared ourselves for any unseen circumstances. But still, when things happen we will realize that there are so many things we still need to learn. Most importantly, we must stay calm (or pretend to) especially the unpleasant moment happens in the public eye. 

By the end of the day, I still felt grateful because Naufal was alright. And that does matter for me!
He didn't get cranky or even crying when he vomited. Alhamdulillah.

Naufal is so into Upin & Ipin. He gets excited when he sees the images of Upin & Ipin. He stops playing with his toy when the Upin & Ipin series is on TV. He even shakes his head and moves his hand when  hears the Upin & Ipin's song too!! LOL!

Watching the series, like a bos bak kate Cu Amal hehehe

Because of that, mommy & daddy decided to bring Naufal to Upin & Ipin restaurant for his 1st birthday. At the moment we stepped into the restaurant, Naufal started to point his finger at every conspicuous Upin & Ipin pictures at the wall (note: the pictures are everywhere, of course!). Birthday boy was as happy as a lark and did not bother to eat his meal! As for the rest of us, we were glad that we have made the right decision to bring Naufal to that place. Most importantly, birthday boy kena la  happy kan?

At the Upin & Ipin restaurant, we had local Malay cuisines such as bihun, mee goreng mamak and ayam goreng. Seriously, I just rate them as average. Nothing special. Like I said before, this is Naufal's birthday celebration, yang penting dia yang kena happy hihihi..

No, the restaurant did not have this cuppy. I ordered this from Kak Farah's friend.

There are many super duper cute Upin & Upin stuffs/ souvenirs  at the restaurant. I felt like grabbing them all!! Luckily, I didn't ;p .We decided to get Naufal this cute little frame.
