A wonderful year of  2012!

HeLLo Parenthood !
 29 April 2012 was the moment I became a mother to my hero Adam Naufal bin Azhar. After almost 40 weeks of pregnancy, I successfully gave birth to a healthy 4.0 kg baby boy in Pusat Bersalin Kohilal, Taman Melawati. From that day onwards, everything changed so fast! Naufal already weighed 9 kg and to see him growing was really unbelievable. Although, there were few unavoidable incidents, we embraced them with open hearts. The  challenges that came along the way were embraced optimistically. Alhamdulillah, we managed to go through the hurdles in raising up Naufal as best as we can. The priceless experiences have somehow taught us to be a better parents , InsyaAllah.

PJJ no more
For me, PJJ stands for Perkahwinan Jarak Jauh. I'm so glad that it's finally over! No more PJJ for hubby and I. Alhamdulillah, hubby got transferred to KL few months before Naufal was born. Ramai kata, rezeki anak. Subhanallah, indeed memang rezeki anak! No longer a cikgu, hubby is now an officer is KPM. The decision was not easy to make but we didn't have much choice back then. It's ok dear, once a teacher always a teacher. I will support you endlessly in whatever you do. The sacrifice you made just to be with us was something that I will remember forever. We love u daddy!!

2012  was also a wonderful year for my darlings. Puterk gave birth to Nur Damia Hannah. That was only a month after Naufal was born. Intan got married to the love of her life. She is now a happy Mrs. kerol! And recently, Mira got engaged to her soulmate, Sol. Alhamdulillah!!

 From SEGAR to SEMENTAS
Oh, tempat jatuh lagi dikenang apa lagi tempat first posting! Kawan-kawan seperjuangan, pengalaman mengajar,memori indah, suka duka sepanjang hampir 4 tahun memang tidak terbeli di mana-mana dan akan ku kenang sampai bila-bila. Thank you SEGAR for such priceless experience. SEGAR will always be in my heart. *teary eyes*

 

 

 

 

 

SEMENTAS here I come!
Allah has answered my prayer. I've always wanted a school that is near to my house. Alhamdulillah, dapat bertukar ke SMK Taman Selayang. Only 10 minute drive from home, syukur sangat-sangat!!
Hopefully, I will be a precious asset and never a liability to my new school. InsyaAllah! Ameen..

 

GOODBYE 2012!!

For the past seven months, I didn't take any vitamins because I thought I can survive without them. Due to my so-called hectic lifestyle especially towards the end of the year, I know I should not put all the blame on all the works stuffs. I started to be less concious about my diet. Don't get me wrong. I am NOT on diet because Naufal is still breastfeeding. When I was too busy or too occupy with my work, I tend to skip important meals. Sometimes, I just had oreo biscuits or chipsmore for lunch!! Memang tak kenyang tp diri sendiri yang terlupa....that Naufal still breastfeeding and I should supply him with highly nutritious breastmilk. Kalau dah makan pon x jaga, skip sana sini.....the quality of my breastmilk was obviously declining...

Patutla Naufal asyik sakit memanjang! He was even diagnosed with anemia due to low iron in his body. Dr. Asmah (naufal's paed) was curious about this. She started to suspect that all these could possibly link to the breastmilk. Note: breastmilk is supposed to be the best food for baby until he reaches 6 months. However, since I'm not eating healthily and not taking any supplement, Naufal didn't get adequate nutrition from the breastmilk such as iron. Seriously, I don't know how to describe my feeling when Dr. Asmah was explaining all these.

She gave me very useful advice that are worth-sharing :

* take the same supplement that we take during our pregnancy
- We need vitamins that are useful not just to our body but also to our baby. Kalau ambil ubat sembarangan, besar kemungkinan khasiatnya x sampai ke baby.

*eat healthily. Skip meals NO MORE

*prepare your own meals. Kurangkan makan dekat luar sbb kita xtau tahap kebersihan makanan yang dibeli diluar. Contoh: sayur mungkin tidak dibasuh dengan bersih.

oh nappy rash!

First and foremost, I need to emphasis the fact that I just want to share my experience. I'm not a doctor but I have friends who are doctors and those with similar experience. Seriously, even though you are not a doctor/ nurse, there are few basic info about nappy rash that u need to know. Bukan apa, bila dah jadi nanti senang nak handle .

 

1. if you are using disposable diaper (DD), don't delay the diaper changing routine!

I'm using Cloth diaper (CD) for Naufal but when we travel we prefer to use DD instead. We made a huge mistake by not changing Naufal's diaper when we had our 6 hour non-stop drive from Jitra - KL. Coincidentally, Naufal was having high fever during that time. So it was not a 'clever' thing to do when u have an ill baby on board. The diaper has to be changed as frequent as possible.


2. Prevention is better than cure.

Since Naufal was born, mak long advised me to use Drapolene. It's a nappy cream that can be used at every nappy change. It's safe and works well too. Most importantly, the price is reasonable and can be found at most pharmacies and hypermarket. Hmm dah bunyi macam duta drapolene ni. Tapi betul, sepanjang guna drapolene memang bahagian punggung Naufal x pernah jadi nappy rash. Nappy rash cream truly helps to prevent and treat nappy rash. Gunakan tanpa was-was. Banyak je lagi jenama lain di pasaran sebenarnya, ikut mana yang serasi dengan baby kita la kan..



3. What happen if the nappy rash is unavoidable...
Like in our case, salah sendiri...kesian la baby Naufal ni haaa..tak pasal2 merah punggung sebab mommy n daddy tak salin diaper. Ampun ya sayang! lesson learnt! Ok, bila punggung si anak dah nampak merah...drapholene or krim yang sewaktu dengannya mungkin dah x berkesan. Try sapu daktacort and zinc oxide cream. Mula-mula sapu dulu krim Daktacort biarkan seketika sapu pula dengan zinc oxide, InsyaAllah rasa pedih akan berkurangan dan melecet pun akan hilang..Zinc oxide cream berkesan untuk melindungi kawasan melecet dr rasa pedih bila kena air kencing. haa ala2 shield gitu. Oh yer, kalau dah merah di bahagian bawah tu JANGAN sapu bedak pula......melecet boleh bertukar menjadi teruk!ouch...

4. CD ...DD.. Napkin?
In my opinion, I would strongly suggest..CD! Seriously, Naufal didn't get any nappy rash when he use CD. Most importantly, don't delay CD change routine. Sama ja kalau tak tukar, melecet juga nanti. Kalau DD, I would suggest Mamypoko brand. Memang mantap sistem serapan cecair utk diaper Mamypoko ni...harga? hmmm agak mahal. Again, the basic rule is still the same, jangan bagi baby pakai pampers terlalu lama.

Sebaik-baiknya, elakkan dari terjadinya nappy rash. Kesian betul dengan Naufal bila kena tahan pedih bila nak basuh punggung dia waktu melecet. Tapi bila dah jadi tu kena cepat-cepat letak krim yang berkenaan..Klau boleh, bagi kawasan yang merah tu sentiasa kering. Kalau lembap lagi merebak & lambaaaaaat sgt baik. Kebetulan Naufal kena masuk ward time jadinya nappy rash, ish ish ish..bilik beraircond sgt2 tidak membantu! Bila balik rumah cepat sikit recovery processnya.

biarla apa yang berlaku menjadi kenangan....belum kena belum tahu.hopefully no more nappy rash dah after this.







the part 2 (-_-)

I've been procrastinating to write about what happened to Naufal for the pass three weeks. Aduh, now it turned out to be something outdated. Seriously, dah masuk angin pun cerita lama hehe n who's to be blame for that? lalalala..

The main important thing is that I have learned a lot from what had happened. Just a quick sneak peak of what had happened to mommy's little boy :-)

Naufal was WARDED for 5 days!
Sedih luluh hati bila terkenang nasib anak yang baru 7 bulan tapi dah warded. Due to Naufal high fever, doctor had to increase the dosage for his antibiotic. Because of that too, Naufal had quite severe nappy rash and diarrhea. Diarrhea and nappy rash were not supposed to happen at the same time, but then who are we to say that?? Tak tau mana silapnya. Ya Allah, kesian tgk Naufal time tu. Bila cirit terus menggelupur sebab bahagian punggung dah macam melecur! Bila Naufal kerap sangat cirit birit doktor terus suruh stop menyusu badan untuk seketika sebab usus dia tidak boleh serap laktosa dari susu badan ataupun dikenali sebagai lactose intolerence. kesian anak mommy, kena minum ISOMIL without lactase. Hurm, memang naufal taknak la kan. tapi bila dah lapar sgt, nak tak nak terus telan jer.....oh :-( Memang berat badan naufal terus menurun! Doktor tak galakkan bg apa-apa makanan sebab nak bagi enzyme yg hilang sebab cirit birit ada balik. kesian..kesian...

Bukan senang menjadi seorang ibu (part 1)

Everything started on Monday 12th November 2012. All in a sudden, Naufal was not active and kept vomitting every food he consumed earlier. Luckily my sis in law, kak Nawal was in Jitra too. As someone who has experience dealing with babies, the first thing she did was checking Naufal's tummy. It was so airy! Astagfirullah, dari lahir sehingga time tu Naufal tidak pernah kembung! Kak Nawal urut perut, belakang badan and kaki Naufal dengan minyak telon. Memang keluar segala angin!! On that time, Naufal didn't shed any tears or get cranky which somehow surprised us. Padahal kalau badan baby kalau masuk angin or bila dah start kembung....mmg xsenang semua org ok! Malam sebelum tidur, Naufal's body temperature became slightly feverish. Naufal's body temperature was about 38 celcius. Oh no.. DEMAM!!

On the next day (13th November), we immediately went to Kedah Medical Centre(KMC) to get Naufal checked. We went straight to the Emergency Dept because we wanted Naufal to be checked as soon as possible. As usual, the nurse in-charge weighed him and checked his body temperature. It was 39.2 celcius!! Terus nurse bagi ubat untuk dimasukkan ke punggung supaya suhu badan dapat diturunkan serta merta! Lepas ambil ubat dan jumpa doktor, kami terus balik rumah. We had to cancel our plan on that day which was visiting Ainna and her two children. Naufal needed some rest and we wanted him to have super speed recovery.
 

 

On Wednesday (14th November), Naufal's temperature rose again! Although we sponged his body every now and then, the temperature was still high. We decided to go to KMC again and this time, we wanted to see the paed. Memang mencabar kesabaran bila terjadi kecemasan sewaktu kita sedang bercuti. Since it was our first time to see the paed in KMC, we had to wait for our turn for about nearly 2 hours!! Lama sgt....huhuhu kesian dekat Naufal :-( When we got to see Dr. Razif, Naufal was already too tired. Bila dah nangis sepanjang hari, dengan badan yang tak sihat memang flat terus badan Naufal. After meeting with Dr. Razif, we had to go again to KMC for several times as naufal needed to be given Nebulizer treatment. It was for 6 sessions for two days. The nebulizer treatment was said to ease Naufal in breathing. Yang paling meruntun jiwa ialah bab muntah. Lepas bg neb treatment , not long after that naufal akan muntah segala susu and lendir yang pekat. Lagi la lemah longlai anak ku yang sorang ni huhhu. Bila badan dah mula tidak sihat, dengan kahak yang banyak, tidur malam pun jadi tidak lena. Yes, sleepless nights for mommy too. It was even harder to deal because everytime Naufal woke up, I 'd to check his body temperature and sometimes he even vomitted especially after coughing .Off all medicines and treatments, he became weaker.He refused to take any solid except breastfeeding. Whenever he saw syringe, he automatically kept his mouth tight too! Dah trauma nak makan ubat agaknya kut..mana tidak, bila makan je muntah, muntah and muntah.....hurmmmm

On Friday (16th November), we went back to KL.Sadly, Naufal didnt't show any sign of improvement which truly worried us!  On our journey back to KL, I made a HUGE mistake!
In my next post, I'm going to write about something that I took for granted that resulted Naufal's condition to be worsen and finally had to be admitted in the hospital for 5 days :-(

Naufal is so fond of sucking all his fingers into his mouth. Sampai lencun baju dgn mulut sebab air liur yang melimpah ruah hahah.. Some people said, "dah nak makan kut". Ayoyo..he's just 4 months plus kut. Im going to try my very best not to introduce him to any solid food before he reaches 6 months. Another 2 months to go!! Chayok mommy brella..chayokkkkkk..

I managed to ask a paed's advice bout this issue. As expected, this paed strongly opposes the idea of giving any kind of food to babies before they reach 6 month old.It is like exposing our babies to allergic. Breast milk is always the best as it contains all the nutrition needed *full stop*

Alhamdulillah, my little hero has turned 4 months this month. He's getting taller too. It's quite funny when some people think Naufal is aready 8 month old! I'm not worried about his growth since he is fully breastfed. My paed also said the same thing about Naufal's growth. So, keep on growing sayang!!

What I want to share for this post is about what happened to Naufal yesterday..

He got sore eyes!! :-(

It was another replacement school day for all teachers. No, I didn't send Naufal to the nursery because hubby is around (note : hubby is no longer a cikgu so no sekolah ganti for him). So, everything went well until twas about 6pm. Hubby noticed Naufal's eye discharge was quite unusual. It was watery and slightly yellowish! During that time, he didn't suspect anything weird as it was probably due to tiredness . When I arrived home at 730pm, I was quite shocked to see Naufal's left eyes turned slightly reddish. After a while, the discharge got stickier and Naufal's eyes became too watery. The first thing crossed my mind was......... SAKIT MATA!! Astaghfirullahalazim.... Dealing with eye sore for adult is quite troublesome, and it is even worse for babies right??! We dared not wait to see what would happen next and immediately decided to go to the nearest clinic to get Naufal's eye checked.

At the clinic, Naufal was given an eye-drop and the condition was said to be ok. Alhamdulillah we acted quite fast as the doctor said the infection was at the early stage and can be cured easily. phewww.  nasib baik :-) On that night, naufal started to get cranky as he felt uncomfortable with the pain..huhuhu. he even screamed on top of his voice when he woke up in the middle of the night with his eye lashes got glued to his eyes. The sticky discharge became harden when he slept. Hubby and I wiped off the discharge from his lashes by using facial cotton and warm water. We put few drops of the eye-drop given as soon as Naufal able to open his eyes comfortably. What another challenging sleepless night!

And today, I'm glad that Naufal's eyes looked a lot better compared to last night. Alhamdulillah.....

My father in law shared some tips on how to deal with eye sore : 

* wipe off the eye discharge with plain water or breast milk while reciting surah Al-Masad . The breast milk also can be applied around the eyes to soothe the pain. (It worked for Naufal too, InsyaAllah). Who would ever thought breast milk helps to cure eye sore kan???

I’ve been quite occupied for the past few weeks with so many things!

Obviously, I'm adapting myself with new things in school after three months of cuti bersalin.

 PBS, HRMIS, Pangkalan Data Murid etc etc. *pengsan*

And adding to that,

..  I’m making my life super busy updating Chic Muslimah Avenue Collection too ;) hehe

Finally, hubby and I decided to purchase a bottle warmer for Naufal.

 Why AUTUMNZ product?

* It fits most bottle and luckily, Phillips bottle too. Or else, I need to spend over RM200 just for a warmer!*pengsan* 
* the price is reasonable. A warmer + an electric sterilizer for RM 169.90
*it can be used for home and car. So it is convenient for travelling too...hurmm ok la kan??

Truthfully, the main reason  I bought this warmer is mainly because of my concern of Naufal's condition in the nursery. This is the least I can do. To ease whatever thing the babysitter has to do when babysitting my son.
I hope it is not going to be a tedious thing to do for them. An electric bottle warmer is definitely a better solution as compared to the conventional way of heating up the bottle (using hot boiled water), hopefully.

At the moment, I'm preparing a checklist for the things Naufal needs for his stay in a nursery. A bottle warmer is definitely one of the things. 

QQ Baby CD. and what's next?

QQ Baby is a cloth diaper brand (CD). Recently I purchased three pieces of QQ Baby CD from Sweet Luna Shop . From this website, you can get different range of CD with different price. It's like one stop CD shop too.

So yesterday,  the parcel arrived. YEAY!!!!!!!!! Frankly speaking, I love the fun and bright designs. Plus, the price is cheap too. I wanted to buy more than three pieces but somehow I realized that I should give it a try first.Of course, I'm planning to get CD from other brands next time..

DIY Milk Booster

Dah masuk bulan Syaaban dan InsyaAllah tidak lama lagi Ramadhan akan menjelma. Sebelum ada anak, persiapan hendak sambut Ramadhan tidak banyak beza macam waktu bujang.  Tapi bila dah ada anak ni, banyak perkara nak kena standby terutamanya berkaitan dengan stok susu. Bila kita berpuasa, badan kita memerlukan banyak air untuk memberi kita tenaga. Dalam masa yang sama, penyusuan perlu dilakukan seperti biasa. Jadi, siapa tidak risau kalau stok susu merudumkan?? Lebih-lebih lagi, ini adalah pengalaman yang pertama menyusukan anak di bulan puasa nanti.

Mujurlah saya ada join Kumpulan Ibu-Ibu Menyusukan (KIM) di Facebook. Pelbagai info berkaitan dengan penyusuan dapat dikongsi dengan semua ibu di segala peringkat umur. Antara yang paling menarik sekali ialah mengenai milk booster. Basically, xsusah pun nak buat...jom jom jommm kita lihat macam mana ;)

Susu campuran kurma, kismis dan badam

Bahan-bahan

1 gelas susu segar

7 biji badam (goreng tanpa minyak)

1 biji kurma

21 biji kismis
1 sudu teh madu (jika perlu)

Cara-cara

Masukkan semua bahan-bahan dan blend dengan menggunakan blender. Blend sehingga berbuih. Saya tambahkan madu untuk bagi rasa lebih manis.hihi kalau rasa xnak letak pun takpe je

Sebelum minum, selawat dan baca Ya Matin (21x)

 Maksud zikir Ya Matin = Maha sempurna kekuatan

Memang kita dah sedia maklum mengenai khasiat kurma, kismis, susu dan badam untuk kesihatan semasa dan selepas bersalin. Kalau dijadikan amalan sepanjang penyusuan pun xsalah sebab senang nak dibuat dan rasanya memang sedap. Kerangupan badam, kemanisan buah kurma kismis dan madu menambah lagi kelazatan minum berkhasiat ini, (ecewah....macam promoter product pun dah ni).

Banyak lagi tips pasal cara nak tambahkan susu badan. Frankly speaking, perkara ini berbalik kepada diri kita sendiri. Kalau kita betul-betul niat nak susukan anak kita InsyaAllah, dipermudahkan urusan kita itu nanti. Peringatan untuk diri sendiri juga ni hihihih

Dont get me wrong about the title of this entry, ok! Frankly speaking, I never fancy a guy without any strip of hair / botak berkilat. Biarlah orang cakap seksi ke seksa ke..haha I just don't like it . But this so called tak-suka perception changed when Naufal's hair was shaved off on the 7th day after he was born. Dari selebat-lebat rambut ke botak berkilat. Hey.. siapa kata botak tak menawan? LOL..
hurm...maybe that only applies to my Adam Naufal . Even daddy dia pun TIDAK DIBENARKAN untuk botak ---

makcik bidan pesan letak kain dikepala dia supaya tak terlalu terdedah. Kalau tidak silap, sebaik-sebaiknya kepala baby ditutup untuk mencegah kehilangan haba dari badan baby
