Antenatal class

Assalamualaikum wbt

I've heard about antenatal class before I even got pregnant. As suggested by many of     my friends, I already set my mind to attend any of the classes before I give birth. Little did I know, the packages offered by certain places are quite different especially in terms of price and duration! Ingatkan mana2 kita pergi sama ja.. My husband and I finally decided to attend the one held in Pusrawi Hospital in Jalan Tun Razak from the 24th until 25th of March (830am-500pm).The fee was RM 150 per couple.

Day 1
 -Kepentingan susu ibu
- Teknik penyusuan
-Ubat tahan sakit
-Penyusuan ibu dari perspektif Islam
-Penyimpanan darah tali pusat (stemlife)
-Penyusuan ibu dan kerjaya
-Senaman antenatal/ postnatal

Day 2
-Kepentingan penjagaan antenatal
-Proses Kelahiran
-Perancang keluarga
-Pelalian
-Penjagaan dalam pantang
-Demo mandian bayi, urutan bayi dan cuci tali pusat
- Lawatan ke bilik bersalin, Post Natal ward

demo mandian/urutan bayi

Overall, we're really satisfied! The input has provided us with great insights especially regarding to some Dos and Donts. For a first time parents, kelas ni memang banyak membantu terutama dari segi menambahkan keyakinan ibu-ibu sebelum/semasa/ selepas bersalin! Alhamdulillah, I guess we've made the right decision for attending this class. Thnks Mr. Hubby for being there with me for the 2-day class. Kesian pun ada juga, asyik-asyik tersengguk je time ceramah hehehe

and the BEST of all...

the FREE GIFTS!

At first, Puterk and Kerol were supposed to join us. However, the day before the class began(23rd March) Maktok passed away. It was definitely a hard time for the whole family coz maktok had been living with them for so many years. Alhamdulillah, I managed to visit Terk's family during the tahlil ceremony. I felt glad to see that Puterk was still able to smile and she looked calm too. To Puterk and family, semoga roh maktok dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan dikalangan mereka yang beriman, ameen.
                                                                            Al- Fatihah.

Cuti cuti Malaysia

Assalamualaikum wbt

School break has always been a great time for teachers to relax their minds from all the workloads!
I'm glad that I've finished marking all the exam scripts before the holiday started *phewww*
As planned earlier, hubby and I went to Port Dickson for a 3D2N stay at Avillion Hotel. We didn't go for any tour around PD, instead we just spent time at the resort-like hotel resting mind and had good rest.

I didn't know much about this place but hubby kept mentioning about it until he finally booked a chalet there. hehehehe Oh well, he's very determined, kan? Although I'm 8 month pregnant, the whole trip thing truly helps me to overcome the anxiety of labouring that is in few weeks time! *gulp*

Alhamdulillah, selamat pergi dan pulang.. only 1 hour + + drive je to the hotel.

tulisan tak jelas..what I wrote was "PD 2012"
Sekali pandang dah macam..."PD Aqua" pulak hihih

<3
love the wooden flooring...
I didn't swim or dive in the pool just dipping my toe and having good time looking at the happy kids . If only I could join them ....

A blessed Friday

                                                                 Assalamualaikum wbt

It's a certainly a beautiful Friday for me and hubby. Finally, he's in KL and we are now staying together for good. No more travelling back and forth from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Baharu and vice versa. All hardships and sacrifice have paid off.

This morning as he was getting ready for his NEW job, it certainly felt like a dream came true for both us. All this while, we had to deal with temporal separation (both of us are teaching in different states), permohonan pertukaran yang berakhir dengan "TIDAK BERJAYA", rayuan demi rayuan almost made us gave up and lose hope! To get him transferred to KL was extremely difficult as our condition was not as bad as others who asked for transfers too...

Finally, my husband got transferred to Putrajaya. He is no longer a teacher as he is officially working under Bahagian Perancangan dan Penyelidikan Dasar (EPRD), Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia. It was not an easy decision to make as he's fond of teaching . Nevertheless, as both of us have discussed earlier, this could be a good opportunity for his career growth and professional development. At least, we got what we wanted ; to live together. No more weekend husband and wife. syukur alhamdulillah.

Special thanks to my best friend, Puterk, who also works in KPM, for initiating the idea of "tukar bahagian" instead of "tukar sekolah".  And not to forget for those who have supported us along the way in dealing with all the hardships and challenges. Thank you from the deep our hearts. For those who are still trying to get the transfer,be strong, don't ever give up and never lose hope. I believe many of us agree that long distance marriage is not easy. However, it teaches us to be patient and strong,
InsyaAllah.
To my beloved husband: I wish u all the best! xoxo...

Baby Bathtub

Assalamualaikum wbt

At the moment, me and hubby are in the midst of searching for a baby bathtub. We have to consider  several crucial factors (size, functions, practicality etc)before purchasing a baby bathtub.

When we went to IKEA, we found quite a huge baby bathtub that costs only RM 19.90. Because of the size, we didn't purchase it straight away because we're wondering how/where it can be kept. Currently,  we're staying with my parents in Gombak. The size of my bathroom is not spacious enough to keep this kind of bathtub.

#the only colour left was white.
Then, we went to  one of the baby boutiques : The First Years at The Curve. There are few types of bathtub available in many sizes/colours and functions. Luckily, the super friendly promoter briefed us about the special features of each bathtub. She introduced to us the foldable baby bathtub that is suitable for travelling and also practical for small space.

# the size is much smaller than IKEA's bathtub.
# it has excellenet safety features
# made of durable material
# foldable (of course!) and can be kept inside or outside the bathroom
Can you guess how much is this?
It's RM 90.00!! it is quite expensive for just a bathtub =(
If i'm not mistaken, we only use the bathtub until the baby reaches 9 months old. So, is it worth buying? Once the baby starts to learn to walk/stand, a baby bathtub is no longer practical, right?
Anyone has better suggestions? Where can we get a similar bathtub with good deals?
Am I being too frugal here? hahah I don't think so ;p

The Curve, "latest" discovery!

Assalamualaikum wbt

All this while, Mutiara Damansara has been one my favourite spots for hang outs, jalan jalan cari makan window shopping, etc. I love the idea of how the big malls (IPC, Ikea, The Curve, Kidzania,Tesco) get interconnected all in the same area! After all, it's only 20-minute drive from Batu Caves with RM1.50 toll charge (LDP).  Yer, bukan nak promote tempat ni la kan, hahaha. I just want to share my so-called 'latest' discovery about this place ;)

Today, I guess I've made the right decision by not going to MidValley for another baby expo! (Yes, recently I already went to a baby expo in KLCC and it was ...so crowded!). Hubby and I couldnt afford for another himpit menghimpit session at the expo so we decided to go to The Curve and Ikea instead.

and guess what?? All this while, we never really bothered about baby shops or boutiques at the Curve. But to our surprise, there are plenty of them at The Curve!

there's Baby Care room too

Dan banyak lagi kedai-kedai baby yang best! price wise? quite reasonable too!
The shops are located next to each other all at the same floor. Senang kan???
Rasa macam kelakar pun ada, selama ni macam mana la tak perasan..hehe.
So, ni la ceritara "Latest" Discovery at The Curve! hahaha

nasi lemak panas

Assalamualaikum wbt

When mak and abah went to Mekah to perform haj last year, I craved for mak's kari ikan. It was so frustrating when all kari ikan I had was not as delicious as mak's. I refused to do it myself because I didn't want to be disappointed (coz i'm not a good cook too ..haih). Nak buat macam mana, kena la tunggu 42 hari untuk rasa air tangan mak *sigh* As a result, my weight was stagnant for the first 4 months of pregnancy! Bayangkanlah, selera makan memang tertutup selagi tak dapat kari ikan mak. Bila mak dah selamat pulang, baru la dapat merasa and segala selera makan pun terbentang luas ;)

My favourite kari ikan mestilah pekat and masam-masam. Penang style curry fish is the best!
Talking about food, last nite I suddenly woke up at 3.30am and couldn't sleep until 4.30am! The only thing I had in my mind was "Sangat lapar & nak makan nasik lemak panas sekarang".
Seriously, I was not joking when I meant it. Terbayang-bayang bau dan rasa nasi lemak panas! Pusing kiri tak kena, pusing kanan pun tak kena.
After a while I managed to sleep until 6.30, alhamdulillah.
Yang lawaknya, boleh pula nak termimpi makcik yang jual nasi lemak tu kan!! Siap tolong makcik tu buka kedai and susunkan segala kuih-kuih atas meja. hahaha

Lepas dah solat subuh, perasaan nak makan nasi lemak dah berkurangan tapi tetap ada. Without wasting much time, I grabbed my car keys and went straight to the warung nasik lemak. Oh well, the owner of the warung is the same makcik that appeared in my dream last night :p
Finally,  I had nasi lemak panas for my breakfast.....

ni hanyalah gambar hiasan.
The one that I had was only RM 1.20!

Mission accomplished

 Assalamualaikum wbt

 Alhamdulillah,

I managed to get all papers marked before March school holiday begins!!
In fact, I got it done earlier than I'd expected, woohooOOO~~

It's time for ...

ultrasound scan : myths and facts

Assalamualaikum wbt

Being a first time parents (and parents-to-be), I'm sure many of us have experienced incidents when you are 'stucked' to believe about certain pregnancy myths or facts. Sometimes, we might not know whether to believe it or not because we don't have the experience yet as compared to those people who dah 'makan garam terlebih dulu'.  One good example is  the ultrasound scan. Of course, there are many myths and misconceptions about ultrasound scans in pregnancy.

Awal-awal pregnant, ada ramai cakap tak elok kalau kita scan perut awal-awal. We need to wait until we reach the 6th month! For my situation, the first 4 weeks pun doktor dah scan sbb nak check the EDD (estimated delivery date). Oh yer, dari saya 1st period until sebelum preggy, period saya memang tidak teratur. So, the doctors need to do few scannings before they can really decide the actual EDD.

Disebabkan agak risau mengenai komen/ pendapat sesetengah orang mengenai ultrascan, I immediately clarified this with one of the doctors that I'd visited. Furthermore, I also read about this from books and internet. So check it out:

Are ultrasound scans safe? Can too many scans damage my baby?
  • Ultrasound scans as used in the modern equipments are safe. The energy used is not a type of ‘radiation’ (like X-rays). However, it is better not to use the higher energy type of ultrasound scans (Colour Doppler and Pulsed Wave Doppler) in the very early embryo (as 5-6 weeks).
  • There is no evidence to show that ultrasound scans harm babies. Numerous studies have been conducted to date, because ultrasound has been around for a long time (since 1960s). Hence, we have enough robust data to be confident about its safety. In fact, ultrasound scans are the best method of finding out about the health of your baby. Merely feeling the baby through your abdomen and listening to the heartbeat is not always sufficient!
    (source : Total Pregnancy Care)

So the conclusion is clear that ultrasound scan is not dangerous *phewww*.
But it is recommended for check up reasons and not only for a remembrance. hehehe.

Lisa Surihani

Assalamualaikum wbt
Guess what?!
I'm going to write about ...
Lisa Surihani!!
Let me remind you that you are not at the wrong blog or post ;p

Last year, as I was doing my grocery shopping in Jusco MidValley , Lisa was at the supermarket entrance giving a short talk about Sofy. During that time, whoever purchased any Sofy product worth RM15 and above can  have a picture with her.  I was... ecstatic as it was only RM15! (kalau RM50 ker..RM150 ker mmg dah lama angkat kaki hehe). And yes, we took picture together. My husband was quite entertained to see how eager I was to take picture with Lisa. Mesti dia terfikir "Sejak bila la my wife ni suka si Lisa, siap nak ambil gambar sekali pulak tu" . haha. Apa2 pun.. Please take note that I'm not that kind of person who takes picture with random celebrities. Oh well, did I tell you that it was last year? *wink*

haha ni la gambanya.
Personally, I'm not her big fan. Just someone who happened to know about her due to alot of things written in the newspaper/mags. Her only movie that I enjoyed watching was I'm Not Single. The rests are just so-so (these include Lagenda Budak Setan & Ombak Rindu).

For me, she has the natural beauty. But when the so-called expert mak andam did too much on her face, she will look 5 years older than her age!! Kesian..

A down to earth person and typical girl next door, she is. When she gave the talk about Sofy product, I could see many people were mainly interested to look at her and not so much of the product :p hehe

On the 24th February, she tied the knot with Yusry.
Jodoh pertemuan di tangan Allah. Semoga pasangan ini berbahagia sehingga ke syurga

love the natural make up. Macam princess pon yer gak hehe
